PROPOSED SHORELAND MANAGEMENT ORDINANCE AMENDMENTS
The Aitkin County Planning Commission held a public hearing on the adoption of amendments to the Aitkin County Shoreland Management Ordinance on November 17, 2025, at 4:00 pm in the Aitkin County Board Room at the Government Center, 307 2nd Street NW, Aitkin, MN 56431. The Planning Commission will make a recommendation on the proposed ordinance amendments to the County Board of Commissioners, with an additional public hearing and first reading to be held at the regularly scheduled County Board meeting of December 16, 2025, and the second reading at the regularly scheduled County Board meeting on December 23, 2025.
A draft of the proposed amendments can be found at: www.co.aitkin.mn.us/notices/. It is also available for public review at the Planning & Zoning Office during regular business hours. Submit written comments to the Aitkin County Planning and Zoning Office: 307 2nd St NW, Rm 219, Aitkin, MN 56431, attention: “Ordinance”, or e-mail to aitkinpz@aitkincountymn.gov before 4:00 pm on November 17, 2025.
